(West Gov Hospital) Cardiac ICU Staff Nurse/ Enrolled Nurse (3 Shifts) #HJC

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and complex nursing procedures and treatment to meet the general comfort and well-being of the patient. Perform patient assessment and appropriate interventions for effective patient's outcome.

• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior nurses in the delivery of safe and effective patient care, including infection control practices.

• Utilise clinical judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the delivery of patient care and assist in development of clinical policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate expertise in advanced clinical skills and knowledge such as performing intravenous cannulation, venepuncture, administration of medication, ECG monitoring and interpretation, assist in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and blood culture sampling.

• Act as a liaison between patients and families and provide patient education and participate in patient's rehabilitation, discharge planning and involving the patient's family as necessary.

• Maintain proper and accurate documentation of patient's progress and management rendered in the notes, medication records and charts.

• Assist Specialist during treatment/ procedures and examination of patients.

• Follow through with doctor's order and report promptly any changes in patient's condition to the appropriate doctor.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by on-site supervisors.
