Podiatrist (Based in Singapore, Healthcare, Multiple Locations) #HCG

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct vascular and neurological screenings, gait analysis, and biomechanical assessments to diagnose lower limb pathologies.

• Manage complex chronic wounds and ulcers (particularly diabetic foot ulcers) using advanced debridement techniques and specialized dressings.

• Provide treatment for skin and nail pathologies, including corns, calluses, and fungal infections.

• Perform minor nail surgeries (e.g., partial or total nail avulsions) under local anesthesia.

• Prescribe and manufacture custom foot orthoses and provide specialized footwear advice or offloading devices (e.g., Total Contact Casts).

• Work closely with vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, nurses, and physiotherapists to provide holistic care for high-risk patients.

• Participate in ward rounds (for inpatient roles) and clinical case conferences to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning.

• Educate patients and caregivers on daily foot care, footwear selection, and the prevention of diabetic complications.

• Advocate for preventive health by participating in public health screenings or community outreach programs.

• Stay current with clinical advancements through Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement (QI) projects, or clinical research to enhance service delivery.

• For Senior roles: Provide mentorship and clinical supervision to junior podiatrists, interns, and therapy assistants.

Job Requirements

• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Podiatry.

• Must be eligible for registration or currently registered with the relevant local health professional council (e.g., AHPC in Singapore).
