Design and develop/revise curriculum for nurses and nursing staff according to clinical and service needs and best practices.
Develop and implement e-learning resources.
Utilise effective teaching strategies to develop critical thinking and clinical reasoning among nurses.
Direct and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online learning or formal education opportunities.
Align continuing professional development programmes with national directives and research findings.
Maintain training records according to institution and accreditation standards.
Guide orientation/induction program and preceptorship for new staff.
Lead Clinical Instructors to ensure they achieve clinical learning goals.
Facilitate their objectives and the learning environment, and provide feedback.
Ensure written policies are up to date to guide nursing practices.
Works collaboratively with nursing supervisors to maintain clinical care and standards of nursing practices.
Participate in both external and internal committees related to teaching and learning.
Act as a resource person in education/nursing training and clinical issues to provide quality standards of care.
Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Conduct learning needs analysis to identify learning gaps and training needs of nurses and care staff.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes for nurses and care staff according to the learning needs identified.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
Degree in Nursing
Post-Graduate Diploma in Education
At least 9 to 11 years of clinical nursing experience with a minimum teaching experience of 2 years in healthcare setting or nursing academic school.
