Logistic Planner (3PL) / $5000-$5500 / West
Description
The Logistics Planner (LP) processes existing global fleet management information (such as demand volumes, container status and container location) into planning and action advices for moving the right container amounts per type on optimal trade lanes and at the right time to ensure order fullfillment. The Logistics Planner’s main task is the creation of a structured global fleet inventory and positioning plan.
Job Scope:
The following general duties apply according to Operations Management’s guideline:
- Daily report considering latest order updates in ELOS versus current fleet location and status. Based on that report a coordination and action plan.
- Identification of potential or known future availability bottlenecks (early-warning-function) and implementation of counteracting solutions.
- Classify and report on dead inventory “globally”. Team up with Partner Management and Sales to clean-out dead inventory points.
- Monitor trucking cost development and investigate into alternative choices together with the Operations Manager.
- Monitor ocean cost development and investigate into alternative choices together with the Operations Manager.
- Safeguard the right understanding and entering of different container statuses being used in ELOS.
- Responsible for upload, day-to-day maintenance and specifications of any further tool requirements to be addressed with Operations Management & IT. B
- Global coordination and work back-up for other Logistics Planners.
- Support sales process and team regarding operational feasibility and costs.
- Contact development of potential & current positioning companies to be passed on to the team for proper maintenance.
- Other: Any other identified tasks as defined
Requirements:
- University degree in business administration, business engineering or engineering or equally valued work experience with 5 to 7 years of relevant experiences
- Highly motivational, self directed worker
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to plan, disposition assets, prioritize and make decisions
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel and preferably Access;
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and take an integrative role
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
